Front CVD's

I am trying to get hold of the front CVD's for the S4. (Mine have bent (I think I need to put a tiny spacer at the bottom of the shock to stop the arms lifting too high))

Seems to be an issue with the JConcepts-selling-to-Associated-and-SMD-now-taking-over-the -distrubtion-but-not-happening-until-tomorrow-and-don't-have-any-anyway issue.

I hear that people are converting the fronts to B44 - is this true and is it easy, or do I have to get the Dremel out again.

I have two shiny XX4 ones if someone would like to swap?

Just the CVD? Please say yes:thumbsup:

No if you are going to use the B44 front driveshafts you have to buy the whole kit unfortunatley. But you dont need the B44 carriers or anything.

Thank you for the feedback. Now off to order a brand new set.

Ben - Have you ever had the ends bend? Do you run a tiny spacer on the shock shaft (exterior)?

Just in case it helps anyone else reading this Part No. : AS9749 (Full CVA Set for B44)

Which end? lol

:eh?: :D

The ?Turnbuckle? end. Looks like the wishbones are rising high enough for the end of the CVD to smack into the outdrives causing the ends to bend. Bent them back twice now and they seem to be getting weaker. Think I going to need about 2-3mm spacer on the shock shaft exterior to stop it happening.

Are you running a diff or one way in the front ? with the one way you will find they are a bit harder on the driveshafts as the drive cups slide out at times, try adding a little foam inside the cup to stop them moving a little.

Also looks like you are using the older style of drive shafts the newer shinny ones are not wasted near to wear the ball/pin. Until the newer type came out i would bend 1 to 2 driveshafts per meeting.

If you are stuck getting the parts, i can sort you out once i get back from the GP.

Hi Jonathan, Im running a one way on the front. I now feel quite fortunate. 1 to 2 per meeting! I have only had to straighten them twice in 2 months.

I may just take you up on that offer when you return!

I will also be putting some new foam in there to stop them moving so much too. Thank you for the tip.
