New SWORKz Electric 4WD Buggy

As if to prove that 10th off road is THE class - yet another manufacturer looks likely to jump on the class. SWORKz has released some CAD images of their 'S104 - EK1' electric buggy.

http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/misc/news/s104-1.jpg

It certainly looks pretty cool - the cell arrangement and centre of mass is quite far forward judging by the photos, and the 8th-scale looking wheel nuts are interesting if they stay on the production car.

SWORKz:
After 2 years for 1/8 race buggy series with a “no big problem” chassis, now we are going to another job. That’s 1/10 EP 4WD buggy, the name is S104 EK1 for Pro Kit and later S104 EX1 for Sport Radio to run.

The first looking form our 3D drawing you will feel its real SWORKz family products. From the S350 BE1 knowledge we learned more electric buggy point and also using our 1/8 buggy material knowledge to produce. We believe S104 will be very strong in 1/10 scale but also very light compare with other aluminum chassis design 1/10 4WD.

Not uninteresting indeed... Their 8th scale is a MBX6 copy, at least their 10th scale looks "different" :p

Shorties only?

I like the shock shaft protectors a la HPI RS4 MT :)

Cheers
Paul

Looks like the Team C X4 Pro or Ansmann Blizzard

RLGfx 21-01-2013 11:24 AM

hmm.... slick tyres?:confused::D

Interesting - if not predictable layout given 410 mods that are around.
Think that it looks too much like a scaled down 8th car - and the geometry of an 8th is very different to a 10th - so not convinced by elements such as massive shock towers - tall front shocks and front camber links - all far too 8th scale in terms of form and function.
Early days though !

Durango copy???

Is the speedo on top of the servo? Will make for a interesting body shell if so.

I don't see much strength in the front bulkhead with the size of the shock tower.

Nice to see another 10th buggy coming on the Market, busy times for 10th buggy!!!
I know it's only a drawing, but I like the pivot ball suspension and captured cvd pins by a bearing like the 8th scales

Rebelrc 21-01-2013 04:55 PM

Cough! Captive pins like a Predator!
That had them first
Im Glad to see another 4wd option

GRIFF55 21-01-2013 07:33 PM

Yup. Great idea on any car:thumbsup:

I think given that electrical layout it'll be a 'cab forward + right' shell :bored:

CAD

Its just a CAD, layout and finished design may well be very different from the CAD drawing here. there is not even a servo in the pics, just a speedo and heatsink/fan.

VERY Early days in design from these pics but does look like a shrunken 8th in many ways.
Some say thats a bad thing? really?
I disagree, my old Hong Nor SC was basically a shrunk down 8th and performed amazingly well off rd and handled better than many other 10th purpose built SC, so dont rule them out, could be a decent chassis design.

Shorty only is no allowed is it? Though there was a random rule on that?

Other than that, I run their 8th and its good (nitro is Mugen like but with the latest bits has plenty of their own ideas) and the 8th elec works really well.

This one looks nuts but will be very tempted to try it when it comes out!

That's a ROAR rule AFAIK, no problem everywhere else in the world. And they could fit a saddle pack to comply that silly rule too.

Nice design, I like it. Not the usual BJ4we clone.

nice to see a new-comer
looks the BOMB and nice to see a buggy with an interesting chassis layout.
does rather look like a scaled down 8th.
without reading the information i thought it was a 8th from the look of the shocks, the wheels definately look 8th with 17mm nuts

want to see the body and the final piece and more importantly the PRICE

I agree, will Almost certainly try it when it's out!
