Positioning weight in the SV2

Hi lads,

I've picked up a pack of the Core RC sticky lead weights for the time being until I can get the TrishBits ones and am wondering where I should position them on the car and what a good starting weight bias would be?

There is plenty of room behind my low profile servo at the front but not 100% where to add the weight at the back for proper distribution.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

The only place you should need any weight in the cougar is under the servo, I've got 30 grams.

This seems to help turn in on power. If you get all your springs, oils and links etc right, you probably won't use any of the others.

Somebody else may have some other useful tips but this seems to work for me.

Thanks for that,

How much weight are we talking under the servo? Can it not be put behind the servo as there is a gap with a lp servo? When reading setups it says some drivers use approx 85g of weight but doesn't say where it's positioned...this is what's confusing me.

I have a trishbits nose weight and just ordered some twins from rcdomination.

Twins?

If you choose to order the nose weight from Trishbits, I would consider that you may end up running the SVR front bulkhead at some point with the additional ribbing, and order the SVR nose weight. This will fit both SV2 and SVR.

I've already bought the svr upper and lower bulkheads for more strength. As I do not have the TrishBits parts how much weight would you suggest I put behind the servo for the time being and where else on the car should I consider adding a few g's?

Google Trishbits for weights and what goes where. you can not buy them direct, you need to go to rcdomination, who are the distributors for trishbits
