choosing my first electric 1/10th for racing at worm off road
 

Im joining worm and looking for a 1/10th to race with on the off road track. Budget is 200-300£. Wouldnt mind RTR. Just looking for ideas of good cars and then i can narrow search down myself. looking for durable, good spares availibility, competetive if thats not expecting too much :) cheers guys

to be on budget rtr might be ure best best.

Unless u can find some cheap radio gear and electrics and go for the hobao h2

Get the durango dex210 rtr. Great chassis, quality electrics.

might be a great chassis but its also extremely snapable

Get a Team C. Dead cheap and easy to fix if you do break it. And Si will admit by the virtue of mine. He was impressed

Get ur self a b4.1 rtr all you will need is a battery and a charger spears are easy to get and the car is hard as the team c is cheap i was a team driver for Ansmann wich is team c to be honest it's a toy not a race car I had to modify mine with b4 gears in the gear box slipper and spur has the Ansmann ones melt and brack the gears in the gear box I could go on but I won't y can get a b4.1 rtr with charger and bat for 300 easy

or join in the h2 gang. Its as strong as the 22 and Durango if not stronger as its made with 8th scale plastics.

the only things ill need to upgrade are the springs but even that's not necesary.

for 135 quid u cant go wrong. With a few setup changes mine is easier to drive and faster than my previous highly modified and expensive Durango.

h2 £135, hobbywing combo £100, ace gens lipo £33 and a basic 2.4 radio system £60-80.

The ansman isn't team c for one the team c is a lot stronger and come with updated gears in the gearbox even though they look the same team c use stronger plastic material and Kevlar spurs , everyone I have seen use one has gone better with it that there previous car and at £140 it represents excellent value for money also if you wanted a full spring tunning kit for example it's £15 and wishbones £2.99 so spares are cheap to if you do need them

Thanks for the replies. Some models to look at then. I do have a kyosho inferno 1/8 nitro buggy already. Could i buy a kit and then use the transmitter from my buggy?? Then all i would need is motor, ESC, reciever batteries? ..... i will be down at mendip off road tommorow so will pick your brains in person!! cheers guys

cant go wrong with any of them all got + and - but any of these would be a good start

team associated 4.1 rtr
mad rat rtr brushles

all will need tuning into your driving style

i can vouch for the losi 22 strength as it is what i use and in three years i have only broken 3 things very very strong car

you should pop down to the yatton off road club and have a look and as it is indoor dose not matter what the weather is doing

hobao pro kit for less and stronger

cat sx3 a very nice car just got one my self but the pro cf one and as above the hobao h2 pro looks the be a top car and is priced very well

I'm in a very similar position, basically a newbie but looking for 1/10 off road. I spoke to one of he guys at Eden Park yesterday and decided the Losi 22 RTR might be the bet option for me, lots of people at the club use it so lots of upgrades and spares!

my rc10b4.1 arrived the other day and i am impressed. For a ready to run it is good. The controller felt like a toy in quality when i first opened the box but after a few runs it is pretty good. The car is quick enough for me i have it set at 3/4 throttle on the controller to get the best out of it. Im running overlander 4250mah 2s 30c lipos. For my first experience with electric i am truely sold. I am going to upgrade the steering servo for a futaba item and have ordered RPM front bumper and a pack of springs different rates and some astro tyres. Would highly recommend for a newbie like myself!:thumbsup:

Sounds like your sorted, ive recently joined up at worm and running the associated b4.1 and now Cat K1 for a bit of 4wheel action.... absolutely loving it and wondering why i didnt do this years ago, simply cant wait for the spring and summer... im trying to get weekly practice sessions in down there but no chance this weekend with all the snow, hope to see you there sometime soon.

Yo, I live in Somerset. Thinking about paying Worm a visit. I have a couple mates who I occasionally go bashing with at local bmx tracks. None of us have had cars for very long so are largely clueless about visiting a track. Any heads up or advice would be great.
