I've just started racing one after a break of 20 years. The car is far more competitive than my driving ability!

Mmm roller driveshafts too very nice.

You can get repro bodyshells from Team Blue Groove, Kamtec or Penguin on Ebay.

Wheels are still available from JC racing.

I've ordered the penguin shell and mini pin tyres.. What brushless system would be suitable?
I'll need to modify the battery tray?

It's in pretty good nick TBH.. just a little cosmetic work needed and a little mod on the front bulkhead where the shock tower should locate but doesn't :thumbdown:

Bodyshell is being painted (I want it to look good)!

For my Cougar 2 I use round case Lipo, but as it was too long for the standard battery tray I've fitted battery posts and carbon fibre hold down from the Cat SX1. I also had too fit a low profile servo as I didn't want to butcher another servo or drill more holes in the chassis than the previous owner had already done:

An alternative could be shorty lipo as standard bricks will not fit under the plastic bracket at the back of the chassis.

Cool mate..The round case lipo fits straight into the rear bulkhead? And whats to stop the battery sliding forward?

I've replaced all the screws and nuts with stainless screws and andnodised ally nuts.

Re- built shocks

Drilled and through bolted the front bulkhead as they have a habit of bending out of the lug and causing more damage.

General polishing and cleaning and re-tapping motor plate to get rid of the nasty self tappers the hold the gear cover on.:eh?:

Looking for a chassis that hasn't been drilled and I'll replace this one.

But so far I'm pretty pleased. And looking forward to seeing it on the track next month!

Sorry for late response. With round case Lipo they come in different thicknesses, so check the dimensions before you buy. I fitted a narrow touring car servo using some Cat 2000 Servo mounts and some holes a previous owner had drilled. As luck would have it the battery rests up against the servo without limiting the travel of the servo horn.

I've taken some photos to show you, but I don't know how you attach them.

I Found the round case VOLTS Lipo stick pack a bit of a squeeze under the bulkhead. But these saddle packs seem to be ok.. I'd rather had the stick though as all the weight is right at the back and on the outside of the center.. ah well..:p

What battery trays have you used for those saddles and did you need to drill the chassis? I've got a Club 10 chassis with a Shotgun body that does not have holes drilled for longitudinal stick packs and I'm considering using Lipo saddles instead.

No drilling nessesary! I've not got trays in .. I'm going to use velcro to stop them sliding laterally.

You need to attach pic using the paperclip tap above ^ you may need to crop pics to reduce size before uploading though..:)
