navak gtx esc (brushed)

Hi Guys.

i got a navak gtx esc and on novaks website it says i can use Voltage: 4-7 cells or 2S Li-Po when used with Novak's #5470 Smart-stop Li-Po Module (#5470)

but saying it can use lipos it wants to use the lipo module bt on further reasearch it looks like it is just a fail saf so it will nto drop below the safe voltages.........

so does that mean i can run a lipo (1s) with out it??

i know the disadvantages of going below the safe voltage on a lipo (i will kill it)

all help and advice is welcome

cheers
levon

Hi,

Looking at the specs of the GTX the voltage range is 4-7 cells which is 4.8 - 8.4 volts. Hence it is ok to use a 2s lipo with it.

A 1s lipo is 4.2v at full charge, so I don't think that it will work with the GTX. The voltage of the 1s lipo even charged would be too low.

The #5470 Smart-stop Li-Po Module ([i]#5470), is just a cut off, which most if not all modern esc have by default. It like the in-built cut-off, is designed to cut the power to the esc, when the lipo voltage gets too low, this is to protect the lipo.
