Is there anyway of getting these blocked. i've had 9 calls in the last 2 days with someone saying we understand you've been in a car aceident within the last 2 year no i have'nt then they hang up  it's starting to get rather annoying

I was getting poo-loads of these calls, so I signed up for telephone preference before we went away:

Fingers crossed it's done the trick. Just need to sign up my work phone number now as I get loads of nuisance calls on that too

I've had these for about 10 years :-/ they used to call my nan's phone too, regardless of being on the TPS (which is annual by the way - you have to register on it every year), I think its an industry that still unregulated? That might have changed now, not sure.. I can sympathise though, complete pain in the arse :bored:

The TPS site says that if you continue to receive marketing calls after registering with them, to report the caller to someone or other - they provide the information when you register. Maybe it is regulated now as they are not meant to contact anyone who has registered with TPS?

Nice one thanks Mrs Oople, just registered my number

One of these will do the job. It will cost you but then you wont get pestered again once you block the caller.

They were selling them on tv the other night at a higher price plus postage.
