frsky conversion help

I have a ko esprit type r fitted with the v8ht hack module and using the v8r4 receiver.

The problem is they take upto or over a minute now to find each other.
If I leave the transmitter on I can switch the car on and off no problem but if I switch the transmitter off it can take an age to come back online.
When I first converted this set the response was instant.
I have tried re-binding to no avail.

Any ideas what has gone wrong? I have reverted to 40meg for the time being...

Have you tried it with a different receiver?

No, I've not, only got the one for this system but thought I'd ask first before buying new parts.

Thanks for your reply but I Don't think this is the answer to my problem tbh.

Funnily enough if the car and tranny are next to eachother they can take longer to "find" eachother even though it sounds silly. But a minute does seem a bit extreme.

I'd try another receiver first.

I have 3 FrSky receivers and I've never had any issues with binding.
Sounds like a faulty tx module to me? At least they don't cost the earth if you have to replace both module and rx!

Also an after thought.. have you checked the transmitter aerial connection? My tx aerial came apart in my hands when I was fitting it and hence I ordered another aerial since they're only a few quid.

have had slow startup times occasionally, after experimenting as to why it was happening i found it hardly ever hasppened if the car and tx were a metre or so apart. i am using plug in module on 3vc and v8r4 rx's
