X6 Rear Hinge Pins
I bent the kit items a few months ago and so decided to purchase the DDP steel versions. (DDP 020). They are not cheap but following on from the note on the X Factory web page, saying "They're simply the best pins I've ever found. They fit great and won't bend or break." I bought them.
Well last week I broke one of them! But the wishbone did not break. Has this happened to any other X6 owners? PS I have now got the Ti pins. Hope these last a little longer. |
Only done 2 races with the car. One of the DDP pins broke straight off in the first race. For the second race I used the standard ones, and those held up just fine.
There are no things on this planet that won't bend or break  |

I use hingepins made out of spring steel, they can bend a bit but allways come back straight.

Brian, Paul, and I are perplexed about this. A number of D.D.P. pins have broken in U.K., Team cars and customers. I'm being honest here -- we know of no failure at all in the U.S.. The D.D.P. pins are far superior over here.
They all come from the same batch from the same supplier, so it's not a bad batch or the wrong ones were shipped to U.K. Brian has been running these pins from this supplier in all his cars for many years, and we can't figure it out. We do have one idea, and a new batch of slightly different pins will arrive soon. The Team will try them, then we'll see. This thing is very strange... Anyone with ideas on this is welcome to post on the forum at www.2wdrc.com Thanks. |
