8TH boys have EURO A and EURO B:)

Mrs oOple 15-06-2008 10:57 PM

Congratulations Lee Martin, well done :)

How does this A and B business work then? how come there are two different Euros?

mattbrown 15-06-2008 11:11 PM

Well done pidge,

Same q as Vicky, A and B?

barnyard 15-06-2008 11:11 PM

well done to lee & bloomers

A+B Euros - they have enough drivers from around europe to warrant 2 euro events, the best drivers from each country nats go to the A the next best go to the B.

I guess bloomers & lee didn't qual for the A as they didn't do enough rounds in last years nats

Not sure if The top drivers from the B get offered a place at the A it would be nice but a bit inpractical as the 1/8th A-euros is a little over a week away being the week before the 10th offroad

Almost right but not quite..... Bloomy IS going to the Euro A later this year. The two meetings basically are a little along the lines of our F2 finals that we have (were the elite are excluded), where at the Euro A is all the best drivers from around who qualify and the B is for everyone who has NEVER been to a Euro A before (like our F2 EOY final is only for F2 and below but no F1's....similiar)

As at this weekends date Darren has NEVER raced at a Euro A, so he (and Lee) could both enter this B meeting, he can still also go to the A later this year too (which he is). Next year however he cannot enter the B again since he would of raced at an A by then so no longer is allowed to run at any B event.

Assuming it is pretty much the same drivers who make the A most seasons, the B gives a chance for the "not quite as quick" drivers to have a large prestigous meeting of thier own. Due to the popularity of 1/8th across europe we only get a really small number of places for each anyway (less than 10 I believe......but not dead sure on the number, I know the worlds is only 3 places for the UK!!!!)

Hope that makes sense.

Well done to Darren and Lee, I know Darrens rotten luck in 1/8th continued and he led the A main for a long time until a problem relegated him to second behind Lee

Nice one Lee !

MattADH 16-06-2008 06:13 AM

I believe that you can compete at the B Euros if or if you have not finished in the top 50 of the last two A Euros.

PW has confirmed this and also said that for allocations we get:

19 places for Euros A
5 places for Worlds

Lee Martin 16-06-2008 09:19 AM

Thanks all! And hold up dms, darrens bad luck continues yes! But he only led for about 4 laps... Hardly a long time over the 84 of them.....

Lee, yes my info yesterday was wrong, (Thats what happens when you get second hand info) Darren himself (who has just popped in on the shop his way home) said that it was early on the problems when you and he broke well clear of the rest, he reckoned he led for three laps max, then two cuts and a stop go, led him to ninth and three laps down, to which he fought back to second behind you and one and a half laps back. Well done, good result mate.

how it works in scale ic is diff to above

i am classed as a B licence efra driver, so i can do B' and A's. i can do as many as i like of either, only if my grading makes me a A driver upgrades only done by a certain posistion in the A's, then i would not be able to do the B's
