savox 1251 problem

i have a savox 1251mg and it has an annoying problem when you go to fast from left to right it cuts out and resets the receiver? it`s as if it`s draining all the power. have any of you had this issue before and what was it?

neallewis 26-11-2012 11:41 PM

it's drawing too much current. common problem with savox servos.
Use this: http://www.rccarshop.co.uk/index.php...protector.html

or make one up with a 4700uF 10v electrolytic capacitor and a servo plug.

il also had this issue when i ran that servo with a spektrum radio set.its cheap as chips to make your own power cap but for the price you can get them for now id save your self the hassle and buy 1.

The savox can draw over 2A, check the technical specs here

http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SC1251...avsc1251mg.htm

I tried it on a Pace 45-R with a power cap, no luck, ended up swapping in an alternative. Some people seem to get them working with a power cap so for the cost of them it's worth a shout.

The power cap may fix the problem on the bench, but one good high-speed sweeper on a grippy track and the problem will return. Once the capacitor has emptied its contents if the servo is still drawing power it will cut the receiver.

Best answer is a receiver pack that will deliver what you need all the time. HTH :)

i run savox 1251`s in all my mardave car and this is the only one with the problem. all the others are perfect!

Have you tried that servo in a different car?

As the servo is the same in all your cars, what are the differences? Logic would imply that the difference is the problem, not the things that are the same.

Following on from cols train of thought

swop the "duff" servo into a car which has no issues if you have issues still it is the servo which is faulty

if the issue does nor occur when swapped then it points to the car set up in which it is installed causing the , the problem usual suspect is the esc not being able to suppy rx adequately causing it to switch off and reset

as mentioned before its a known savox behaviour
