Smooth at low speeds but good top end?

I have a LRP SXX V1 with 7.5 LRP X12 motor. Its too aggressive for my senile thumbs at low speeds but I like the top end speed it gives. Right now what is the best speedo/motor combo that will give me very smooth low end, but a good top speed? I race a X6. Is the new LRP much smoother? Help please!

The X20 is MUCH smoother but be aware that both the Lrp X20 and X12 motors have more power than other brands.

For example, a lrp X20 7.5 is like a speed passion 5.5

or just change your controller's throttle curve from linear to a curve, the deeper the curve softer your low end while still preserving your top end.
