Restoring a Schumacher Cat 2000 E.C.

Hi guys,

I bought this car for my collection, as a cat 2000:

http://666kb.com/i/c941qj6ehc6xv9r92.jpg

http://666kb.com/i/c941qwkqkdvpilohi.jpg

It's on great condition, very clean.

However, I noticed that some parts are different, as eg the shock towers, body, position of the shocks...the top plate and bottom plate are made of carbon, not the shock towers. Front dampers are platic made, rear of aluminum.

Can someone help me and say exactly what cat it is?

Greats - Daniel

It's a cat 2000ec with cat 2000 front suspension arms.
Should have laydown suspension arms to make it complete and a bumper is missing.

Hi Mick,

Thank you for your help.

Do you know where I can find those parts (bumper, laydown suspension arms and alloy shocks)?

Almost finished...

Hi guys,

I disassembled the cat, cleaned it and installed some new parts (front shocks, rod ends, rear arms, bumper...)

Now I have to wait for the new body, undertray, wing and wheels. Still looking for some bits (new front lay-down arms, speed controller plate...)

I wonder if the rod ends on the shocks are the right ones? Looks to short...

Paint job!?

PS: some ideas for the paint job!??

MattW 15-01-2013 07:17 PM

That front end definitely isn't right!! The shock shafts don't look right to me.

Durango 15-01-2013 07:53 PM

Yes, I also noticed that...the shock shafts AND the rod ends look too short...

There were short, medium and long shock shafts? The medium shock shafts should be the right ones.

MattW 15-01-2013 08:09 PM

Should be medium shafts, and the rod ends should be the same as the ones on the end of the turnbuckles.

Durango 15-01-2013 10:23 PM

I will try to find some shock shafts...should not be a problem!

Because I've already got enough spare parts, I plan to build a second cat 2000 and a SST chassis! (more on this in another thread)

Schumacher CAT 2000 E.C FOR SALE

Hi, does anyone have a Schumacher cat 2000 ec for sale? If so how much thanks!

mporter2000 22-01-2017 01:23 PM

Hi
You've got the rear alloy housing already. The upper ones are rare.
You don't need those heat sinks with the alloy housing by the way.

Matt
