RB6, Whats she like?

I'm in a bit of a pickle with this car I want one then I don't then I want one then I don't, so I was hoping you lot could twist my arm? How good is this beast?

RogerM 19-11-2012 12:18 PM

In a word excellent.

Very responsive to set up and super well balanced.

+1.

Raced mine outdoors for the first time on Sunday and was very impressed. Really well ballanced and the car reacted well to the smallest of changes. Just need to improve my driving now :eh?:

The car is a revelation. Works well on high grip tracks (Silverstone indoor astro) and develops great traction so also works on wet/cold outdoor astro tracks.

I have been blown away by the quality and speed of the car.

Regards,
James.

Have been very impressed with the RB6 so far. First outing outdoors on Sunday at kidderminster, very impressed with the amount of traction it generated, despite the slippy conditions.
The car also works very well in high grip conditions such as silverstone, small change in shock oil and ride height and its good to go.

I bought the car on the strength of the feedback from this forum. The views that it has the ability to generate plenty of grip in all conditions and feel well balanced were my main reasons.
I have yet to finish building the car but I'm very impressed with the build quality.

I don't have one.

Tried one briefly last week and liked it. Alot.
Did I like it £100 over the competition? No, but you might

I dont mind the extra cost cos I have a kyosho car at the mo and have owned a few of the cheaper options and the quality difference to me is far and away better than the cheaper options and worth the price tag but do i need another one of course I do :) the house beast however thinks differently!

House beast! :D

Feedback above seems consistently positive (and that has not happened on many similar threads for other manufacturers cars) and the RB6s I’ve seen running have looked very good but are there no bad points about the car (ignoring price if you consider it expensive)?

JustARcFan 19-11-2012 04:14 PM

The only weak points I know of are the steering rack (exotec has some bling for this) and the rear hinge pin holders.
Especially the hinge pin holders are a weak point and there is not a RR alu replacement available.

Well, my wife didn't like the new car obviously :bored:
And I got a good price on it...

But the more I drive it the more I love it, one of the best I've ever driven, super stable and really responsive to small setups changes.

Didn't even try the rear motor yet but some have tried it on dirt and found the improvement over the RB5 even bigger.

I'm set for 2013, might buy another one for dirt/rear motor.

JustARcFan 19-11-2012 07:52 PM

Do you also have a DB1?

Yes and kept it for race and dry/high grip.

Most 2013 nationals will be on dirt here.

Been running K cars for a while (first gen Vega) so this new one was a must have for me.

Most important thing for me is to improve my driving though

On the face of it the car looks alot like a Losi 22 ! But we all know it's all in the detail ;) So before i get lynched for the above statement what makes it so different ?

Thought so at first, and considering I got a 22 at some point back then I was a bit afraid to go full cycle after a lots of cars but it got nothing from the 22 handling wise, way better (IMHO) and far better quality.
