Not trying to ask a stupid question darren and not looking to pick fault or ridicule the item, but would the plastic bumper fit over the steel bumper? Only reason i ask is because im thinking over time wouldn't it wear down? Or is it strong enough that it would take ages for it to wear down?

When i say wear down im more on about the usual scrapes and bumps you get on the bumper from wear and tear kinda thing.im only asking to see if it would fit so then the steel bumper does'nt loose weight over time.

I do think its a good idea nd looking into buying one hence the question before i invest in one.

Thanx
Jay

In my opinion the bumper will take far longer to wear than the kit plastic one and I think you will have to give it some serious abuse to wear it to that sort of extent...

It is the same shape and size as the kit one, so the plastic one wont fit over it sadly.

It provides a good way of adding that little bit of extra weight up front and low down in extremes when you require it

The RPM bumper would probably fit over it though?

Isn't there something in the BRCA handbook about bumpers being made so not to harm anybody? I could be wrong.

It states they have to be made from a "resilient material" (guess steel is resilient) and with no sharp edges etc (the edge son these are rounded just like the kit supplied one)

I see it as no different to an alloy front shock tower nowadays and in fact the "bumper" is now nothing like what they used to be in the 90's etc when they covered the whole width of the car (which is probably when the rule was written)

LOL, yeh remember the bumper on the Cat XLS? when I got a Procat I thought "Hey that bumper is too small"
