shock shafts

Anyone changed from the durango design to a normal shock shaft and if so what did you use as I dont like the design as the screws come lose and causes problems.

Tresrey shafts are good, they use two circlips. I run them in the Tresrey shock body. I believe that they are marginally smaller in diameter than the Durango, so maybe if you were to use them with Durango bodies then you might need to also use the Tresrey inserts to ensure a tight fit. The 'O' rings are standard size. Oh, and of course you would have to use their pistons.

I should also say that this is on just one of my four Durango buggies. I have standard shafts on the other three and never had a probelm with the scew coming loose. Are you threadlocking the screw?

I've been running the 410 since they first came out never had a problem with screws coming loose As Tony says just stick a bit of threadlock on ;)

I've never had any issues either. Threadlock it but don't go daft, a fine coating on the threads is easily enough.

i never thread lock these screws as the hex is sall and i still havent had any problems

I've seen them come loose on the 408, its the same set up but bigger. Just use some lock tight, but I replace the screw after I've had it out a few times as it gets rounded.

Cars been prepared by a team driver and he did threadlock them. I wil do again but if it happens again I will replace with normal shafts, guess I need to buy one of each brand until I get it right. Other than that and the crappy servo horn ball joint the 2wd cars superb.

ther is nothing wrong with the shock shafts as i said i dont locktight and they never come out i grab shaft with big pliers and tighten it and whats wrong with the ball joint?

Welshy40 10-11-2012 11:27 PM

Ive tightend and threadlocked, ball joint unscrewed from the screw. Ive a solution to that
