just some ideas
 

hi all, i am starting racing again and there has only been two types of car that i have ever raced, i have only ever used Schumacher and Durango Manufactured Cars, so basically wanna stick to it!

Only thing is, i am Stuck between the Cougar sv3 and the Durango 210! i know its personal prefrence and personal feel, but can anybody give me some ideas as to what car i should purchase, just basically why you would choose what car over the other

i politely think you mean cougar sv2 not 3 but thats nit picking

both are excellent 2wd cars and there is little to choose between them

schumacher service and back up is excellent and its british, durango i cant comment but the uk team manager adam skelding is a decent guy

in the end its personal preference .both have top drivers in their teams and are at the sharp end of the finals lists and will keep up with any driver

I have had both cars & for me the sv2 is the easiest to drive & setup, this may be very different for someone else so might be worth getting down to your local club to see if you can beg a quick drive of them off the guys there
Nothing wrong with the rango, it was a good car in the dry, i just couldn't get on with it in the wet where as the sv2 seems good in most conditions

Haha yerpp... Sv2 it is haha spelling error, yer I will look on having a go of them, I have been weighing up the option and it seems that the schumacher is an excellent all rounder as my friend told me that he to couldn't get the durango right in the wet :cry:, thanks for the comments though there a real help and keep them coming ;)

Marcus, both the Sv2 and 210 are well supported at your local club www.srcc.co.uk

I'd go for the sv2

210 for me mate. The geared diff on astro (indoor and outdoor at Southport) is absolutely superb.

The SV2 is well supported and british etc but parts are a bit more expensive compared to the Durango stuff. there are also more after market hop ups available for the rango.

The option of running the rango mid or rear motor is a big factor t take into consideration as well, you can chop and change between MM and RM but with the Schumacher you need to have 2 different cars.
However I can say that where I race is an indoor sports hall with polished floor and some carpet and I saw an SVR go round a few weeks back and was very impressed. I thought it would be spinning out a fair bit as I have seen B4's do this in the hall but the SVR looked very planted and and a good runner

at the end of the day its difficult to say one or the other as both are very good cars. it will end up being down to you as a driver/mechanic and what you feel more comfortable with.

I have also owned both cars, and if I were starting out again tomorrow I would choose the SV2 every time. There was nothing wrong with the 210 in terms of performance. But I did find it had quite a few weak points where I needed to upgrade it almost straight away (ball cups, shock towers, steering rack etc). The SV2 has only had minor upgrades and they have all been to try and squeeze that elusive extra half a second a lap from the car.

Also the Schumacher customer service is second to none in my opinion. From trackside support from the team drivers, to order queries dealt with in an instant and without quibble from the team in Moulton, the service provided has been outstanding and worth buying into the brand just to receive this level of support.
