New 210 owner
 

I've just got my first Durango dex210. I would like to know if there are any parts I should upgrade as a matter of course? I could get them and fit them whilst I'm doing the initial build. Thanks.:thumbsup:

diff balls. steering rack, alloy hexes and i brought a few bits if brass to help setup

Stronger 'e' clip for the diff,I used one out of a cougar sv,slightly bigger and fitted a treat,carbon or brass ackermann steering link,diff balls,carbon rear shock tower and maybe tapered pistons from nick gurnell

A few people said to change the ball sockets but I never had one pop off mine all the time I had my 210,

A good mod if you wanted 25 degree caster on the front is to cut one of the rear 0 degree toe inserts and fit them in the front caster blocks.i ran a brass steering link brass under servo weight and brass rear toe block (all available from cream on here)

If you want there is a cream extreme shock tower kit which is carbon and then he has made weights which go under the servo andhes does brass weights for the back, and a battrey holder for the front bit.

Initial items

Diff balls - grab some ceramic one's
Hexes - the rear hexes need to be swapped out for alloy ones, its a cheap upgrade

Steering link - any upgrade will do, alloy, carbon, up to you and your pocket

I've run mine a few times now, had some heavy off's and only broke a front C-Hub (it came down hard on it)

Aside from that parts wise your ok with just a spare front and rear shock tower and wishbones/chubs (standard parts most drivers will buy when owning a new car).

Tuning parts I would value having are

RDRP 65g front suspension hanger (helps keep the car flatter in the air as more weight over the nose, improved turn in)

Replace all plastic spacers with steel/alloy (Tresrey do a kit for £10.95 which is spot on for a standard kit setup)


Apart from that the rest is choice and for further tuning. The car is excellent so yuo havent gone wrong buying one

I much prefer the geared diff to balled diff for all medium to high traction situations (1k oil used). Balled diff used only where traction is low.

Get the tresrey wheel hexes :)

Tresrey alloy hexes
Ceramic diff balls
Tamiya O rings for the shocks
Alloy shock bottoms
Alloy shock limiters

Have those, seconded. Rather good, look nice too

Gear Diff/Ball Diff - Im running a geared as I prefer how it feels, more direct under hard acceleration for a little lack in grip on the slipery stuff. Also its plug it in and forget about it in a sense. 1K-1.5K oil in low grip situations helps the rear balance off. Just be sure you built it up as per instructions, give the seals a good coat of oil before installing them and don't wrench the screws in to tight as you seal it all up...they are fine heads and can strip. Aside from that it's harder than Chuck Norris looking at Chuck Norris in a mirror with a chubby on!

Does anyone know of a shop that has stock of the Tresrey alloy washer kit for the 210?

you could try JE Models or MB Models. Both have a good Tresrey stock normally.
