Brushless Motors clean up
 

Hello, how do you clean up your brushless motors? What sprays do you use? If I use brake cleaner as the one used for cleaning the tires for touring rubber, would this be fine? Any special cleaner for the rotors?

i dont really ever clean mine , but if ive ever had a problem i just open it all up and whack some normal motor spray around it. always does the trick ..

i was told by Mr long to use a paint brush not motor spray at worksop not sure why though.

It does say in the Novak instructions NOT to use motor spray. Not sure why but I adhere to this instruction with ours.

Saying that it was a bonded rotor, the sintered rotor version was bought from a fellow racer and did not have instructions, so it may depend upon the rotor ?

i dont read instructions :woot::woot:, all i will say is when i do clean them i just flush it all out with motor spray and then just rebuild it all, lubing the bearings.
its never effected it and it certainly hasnt slowed it down :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ya, I agree with u, in last season I used motor spray to clean the motor and did not have any issues, only a strange burned kitron smell because the cleaner I used had kitron :woot: was just wondering for something more specific... anyway I think the best way is to flush and clean with motor spray and then use medium pressure air also for faster dryinghttp://www.oople.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbup.gif :thumbsup:
