News letter?

What would you want to see in your monthly news letter? Race results? Special offers from local model shops? track development? Model reviews? Jokes? Planned events? Crash of the month award?
Thinking about putting a monthly news letter together with some input from anybody that wants to contribute to be emailed out to anybody that wants it!
Any thoughts?

That's a good idea here's a list of what I would like to see in it

•race results
•race dates
•upcoming events such as regionals
•race reports from big events
•race photos
•driver of the meeting / month
•best crash
•car reviews
•shop deals
•planned track work
•contact numbers for shops and some club members

You better get typing then Will!

I always found the problem with doing a newsletter is that you have great ideas and put loads of content in the first issue and then run out of stuff by the third issue. I would keep it simple.

I think a good club newsletter focuses on the members of the club, I.e. trophy presentations, how club members have done at big events, Club championship results etc.

Newsletter doesn't have to be big, sometimes a double sided A4 sheet will suffice as long as the information is relevant up to date and factual.

Could always use the time you spend on. oOple to do it will. That should give you at least 12 hours a day :woot:

News letters are all good and well if you have the time. As Robbie says finding content to make it continuously interesting is harder than you think.

we have our own website that doesn't get used to it's full potential and that is accessible for all members to contribute easily.

I would be more to advertise our venue than anything else with some other stuff chucked in. What work and alterations have been made to the track, who is doing what and most importantly race results. Then bulk it up with offers , reviews, jokes etc.
Raising the profile and getting people talking about A1 racing club is more vital than ever!

clicky here for some older wbmcc newsletters, these are what i did. they have dropped off quite a bit lately as i started a fb page too but im in the middle of doing another one. as rob has said try keeping it simple is best. it can be hard especiallly if your racing too and trying catch things going on in the pits with your camera.
can be fun :D

Thanks Dave, I will have a look at yours for some tips if you don't mind.
Cheers.
