210 Gear diff - viscosity question
I am building a gear diff for my DEX210 and am about to fill it with fluid. The question I have is, I have some "10,000 cst" fluid, and was aiming to fill with a light 1000wt fluid I saw in an online build guide:

I suspect you will need considerably lighter. For indoor carpet something between 1k and 3k cst (Durango oil). Jorn has 650cst on some of his setup sheets from last winter. I tried both 3k and 2k in mine...2k made the back feel looser so if pure carpet, I think 2k or lighter would be my starting point.

I don't think so; cst is supposed to be a "standard" way of referring to the thickness whereas weight can vary between brands.
It will probably be easier just to get the TD oils to make sure that you are following the diff setups correctly. I've only ever used the TD oil so cannot compare it to other brands - sorry. |

u could try 10,000, but u might find u have bugger all steering lol
i run between 350 and 650 in mine now. tried 1000 and it was rubbish, tried 2000 and it was even worse |
So you are finding lighter is significantly better...? Is this only for high grip or all conditions? What about bumpy tracks?

Lighter seems to give more steering, and heavier less ... it also makes a difference how much you fill the diff, start with 1000 and go from there ... I use 1000 about 3/4 filled and seems to work most places I've run ...

Outdoors, I've found the ball diff to be superior but never ran that light. I found it was either locked in too much or lit the inside wheel up exiting corners. Might look at giving it another whirl...
