speed passion reventon stock club race

hi

i bought a reventon stock club race speedo and 8.5t motor combo a couple of days back, put it in the car and it worked fine but a bit a bit slow so i stuck a 5.5t motor on it, now it runs in reverse when i use the throttle, ive calibrated the transmitter and speedo but its still the same

it says in the spec "Max > 8.5t" does this mean nothing faster then 8.5t? if so why are they selling them with faster motors and the same speedo

how can i get this motor running the right way?

thanks

Help

If I'm right the max you can go is 8.5 t so nothing lower than 8.5t. I was told by someone to always go one turn up from the limit to be on the safe side . Hope it helps abit mate .

tcboy1983 06-10-2012 03:36 PM

hi the limit on sp site says 9.5t limit so where did u buy this combo ?

jake1*2011 06-10-2012 03:38 PM

i bought it from modelsport.co.uk, i bought it as a combo and it works fine with the 8.5t motor, you can also buy them from wheelspinmodels.co.uk with a 5.5t and 8.5t motor

tcboy1983 06-10-2012 03:43 PM

so you should only run a 9.5t-21.5t on stock club race esc
the s is the same
the r goes down to 5.5t
and the pro down to 3.5t

so could of damaged something

This is taken from the Wheelspin Models page on this esc...
Specifications:
  • Supports 5.5T motors and higher with 2 cell lipo

  • Adjustable items with Optional LED Program Card (SP000007):

Schumacher site says nothing lower than 9.5t should be used on a 2cell lipo??????

jake1*2011 06-10-2012 04:05 PM

thats what i found, so why does the motor run in the oposite direction?

shaun m 06-10-2012 04:15 PM

have you put the motor 'A ' B ' C wires in the right way ?

jake1*2011 06-10-2012 04:20 PM

yeah, i did have to check a couple of times just to make sure

what would happen if i put them in a different order? only ask because if i swap a and c around it works the right way without the sensor lead

tcboy1983 07-10-2012 05:02 PM

the stock club race esc is only a 40amp esc like the s so a high power mod motor would cook the fets
and i got the spec off the sp web site
did the esc and motor come all in one pack ?

tcboy1983 07-10-2012 05:06 PM

i say the shops have messed up as they r selling esc that go down to 9.5t as a combo with lower motors

jake1*2011 07-10-2012 07:27 PM

The motor and speedo came in two boxes in a plastic sleeve which states what motor size it is and that its a combo set, the part number is SP000199, ive seen about 4 online shops with the same combo one of them is a speed passion distributer

Ive sent modelsport.co.uk an email and im hoping they will exchange my combo for the reventon r speedo

MrMagoo 07-10-2012 08:17 PM

Does seem a bit odd... I wonder if the 5.5T set is intended for 1S racing; I had a look round and couldn't find the motor limit for one cell racing with that speedo. Does the manual say anything?

jake1*2011 07-10-2012 08:37 PM

The only thing it says is

Motor = max > 8.5t

Battery = 2 cell lipo/ 2-3 cell life/ 6-9 cell nicad/nimh

I found out that the going bacwards bit was because i put the diffs back in upside down! My bad!!

tcboy1983 07-10-2012 09:34 PM

good to hear about diff as cheap fix and hope u get the esc sorted i think there is a big mess up with uk combos (or at lease thats how i see it )

jake1*2011 08-10-2012 02:10 PM

thank you for the help and concerns gents, ive heard from modelsport.co.uk and theyve asked for the combo to be returned and they will try and sort something out for me!

Yeah i saw that, i had an email from schumacher racing saying:-

Hello jacob

Speed passion have revised the motor limit to 7.5t, we will now stopp selling the 5.5t combo.

Best regards

Mark marshall

The model shop has asked me to return my combo to refund me, will be getting the reventon r if all goes well

jake1*2011 10-10-2012 10:38 AM

Modelsport uk have just got back to me, they have bought the combo off me and have cedited it towards the speed passion reventon r, seen as it was used and slightly damaged i cant complain too much!
