B5 or B4X ?

I have heard mysterious rumours about new parts or even a new car recently from a couple of sources. To either update the existing B4 or even replace it with a B5.

I find it hard to beleive there would be a new car for a few years yet since the existing car is still very much at the top. But new parts I can beleive.

Anyone heard anything like this ? What COULD they improve or what would people like to see ?

not heard it yet, but the name B4x, thats a sexy name:D

I bloody hope not, i just bought a brand new one on friday!!!!!!!

:D Ahaha that will make my B3 even more Retro, i'm sure it'll be subtle changes (think back to RC10 to the Worlds car, then B2 to the B3 or even Losi XX to the XXCR, XXX to the XXX CR) all small geometry changes etc, that's what I'd guess anyway? These teams usually get a good 6 years + out of a chassis....

I've heard the possibility of a mid car.

jimmy 19-09-2006 02:59 PM

haha
Now that would be funny, AE jumping on the bandwagon :p

I heard talk of new suspension parts miself.

bigred5765 19-09-2006 03:02 PM

may be they could address the weight balance,
meaning having to put weight in the back end to make it stay on the floor,
and update the shock seals

jimmy 19-09-2006 03:04 PM

the shock seals are indeed - crap. Just from a maintenance and lifetime point of view.
I heard possibly some new rear arms were in the pipeline that would address the weight issue and basically do what people have been doing with a dremel - move the rear arms forward slightly.

Southwell 19-09-2006 03:09 PM

Thats the 'nublets' cut off the block that holds the hinge pins, right?

jimmy 19-09-2006 03:10 PM

more the front of the rear arms grinding and spacing forward. But who knows.

I do like the word "nublets" tho, its ace.:p

Southwell 19-09-2006 03:11 PM

I couldn't think of another word to describe them :D

albertobdq 19-09-2006 04:49 PM

I've heard rummors about new chasis, new materials, new weight distribution and new transmision. Launching is not decided yet, possible dates are Xtams or World's

Northy 19-09-2006 04:50 PM

Well here's hoping they can sort out the ever so random back end :o

the car will not be released till after the worlds, that is how they always work, and then it might never come out, they had a habbit of that in the early 90's.

Northy 19-09-2006 08:03 PM

I personnally think you'll see a new Losi 2wd before a new Associated.

Whats this rumour about a mid motor B4 running round in the US? Any links to any info about it?

well if there is a b5 coming what will happen to us all runnig x6s? will AE keep doing the parts

BenG 25-09-2006 11:55 AM

AE always continue manufacturing of older parts. Look at the TC3/ tc4;) They might aswell, practically all the parts are the same or interchangeable:D
