Tresrey battery strap + black chassis

spotted this on the Tresrey blog!

The battery strap looks pretty good, don't see anything wrong with the stock one though, but I am interested in the milled out black anodised chassis! You can see it in one of the pictures

Could be the new moulded chasis off the rtr model.

Damn that revention pro isn't small is it

jo90 28-09-2012 06:54 AM

Why has the guy put a generator in his car...oh no wait, thats the speedo. :woot:

Aran 28-09-2012 09:45 AM

Does the plastic chassis have some milling at the front, looked aluminium to me!

The new sp pro disappointed me, thought it would be smaller

bender 28-09-2012 10:28 AM

the chassis pictured there is clearly aluminium, you can see the milled sections - i'd be amazed if that was moulded, plus you can see the colour difference between the chassis and the other plastic parts close to it

RDRP chassis? Exotek maybe?

Will be an aftermarket part from someone...

Aran 28-09-2012 10:55 AM

its a Tresrey chassis ;)

probably +8mm too

Darren Boyle 28-09-2012 10:56 AM

I doubt that it is either of those two, since RDRP's is not out yet and currently Exotek have no plans to make one....

quite like the look of the Reventon, so I took a look at sizes....

HPI Flux Pro - 37.5 x 37 x 29.5mm (with fan)
LRP Flow - 32 x 34 x 21mm (no fan)
LRP/Nosram SXX V2 - 30.5x33x21mm (no fan)
LRP/Nosram SXX V1 - 30.5x34x21mm (no fan) < what I currently use
Reventon Pro - 40 x 35 x 20mm (no fan)

not promising for a Durango 410, but not too different from a Flux Pro !!

Good price / feature set though.

The Vampire SR1+ is quite favourable compared with some of those sizes too at 30.6 x 33.8 x 32.1mm and is proving very popular also...

For the Reventon, the "footprint" is listed as 35 x 35 x 20mm, but the manual says "size" is 40 x 35 x 20mm - guessing the difference is the PCB extrusion.

Need to compare apples with apples. 35x35 isn't too bad.

It's fits nice snug, seen the new sp Reventon pro in a dex410 and it seemed alright, but depends on your reciever too I guess!

AndyG 08-10-2012 04:00 PM

really? wow.

Got a picture ? would love to see that !

OneKiwi 08-10-2012 04:58 PM

If thats the molded chassis then that brace is surly going to stiffen it up if one set of screw holes aren't elongated

Aran 09-10-2012 11:49 AM

its official now! its a lightened chassis, except production model is clear anodised not black

Wow I guess Tresery really did like my tower conversion. Guess it may be time to start just selling direct again and reducing the price.

Gives me open house to do the same to them. Which I've done my best to avoid in the past. I still belive mine is the best. Made from high grade light weight materials.
