12AWG v 14AWG Motor Wires

My sons got a speed passion ESC. This comes standard with 14awg wire to the motor. I've got some decent 12AWG wire (colour coded yellow ;) ).
Am I alright using this thicker quality wire?

As a rule of thumb, if an ESC comes with 14AWG wire then it probably can't handle the motors that would need 12AWG. You'd be hard pressed to notice any difference in performance, although the 12AWG is less flexible and harder to solder.
