have you tried Kev Lees normal set up? Would have thought that would work well..

Base setup is great on carpet.

Maybe add some drag brake to help steering as the rear will be planted, so much traction you will actually hear minipins ripping the carpet on the straigh.

You could try to lower a tiny bit ride height too.

I didn't have to change a lot myself for an awesome result, definetly the kind of track the DB1 was made for.

Maybe Tony and Kev might shime in with better options.

i bought the car second hand and ran it with the set up that was on it which was

40 wt in the front with silver springs and cut staggers
22.5 wt in the rear with yellow springs and yellow mini pins

the handling was a bit boat like im not brilliant at setting up cars so looking for some input to improve it, also ive not raced off road indoors for 15 years or so

22.5wt is a bit low, I'd be somewhere around 30
(with small bores and 3a pistons in the rear)

Hi Mate
I have sent you a pm.
I will be running at Torbay on the 7th October.
Will work on a set up then as it will be the first time for me with the DB1 on carpet.
I'm sure it will be awesome.
Cheers
Paul

Keep us posted Paul !

Take a look at base setup, especially links.

I run 35/25 with 3b pistons, silver/dark yellow unless track is bumpy.

Didn't find it boat like at all.

I run indoors on carpet, Our track is pretty tight.

I found the best setup was:

Everything the same as the Kit/Kev's setup appart from:

Rear To Insert - "E" out
1mm under front inner ball stud.

I run Big-Bore shocks too, If you look back on the "Show us your DB1" thread you can see the setup there.

That works really nice.

John, what you have on that car should be perfect, set ride height to 18mm all round (no undertray included in that) and drive.
40wt AE oil is about 462cst, 22.5 is around 250 cst so very similar to Kev's oil preference. I found it razer Sharp on that!
