The fella in the background (the one with the beard) has loads of trains, and (get this) a track in his garden. I think he is the club gaffa. One of his trains can run for 1 1/2 hours on coal, he's the man.

jimmy 18-09-2006 10:40 PM

that report is THE BEST report I have ever read stu. Normally I would not be interested in smelly old trains, but you made in interesting :p

You should contact one of the model train mags, no, all of them and sell it to them all. I think it would get a younger hipper audience into the "train scene"

Stu 18-09-2006 10:49 PM

I'm going to sound really sad now, but, whem I'm 70 years old and too slow to be able to control 2 channels I'll be doing this. The trains are actually nice things and the old lads were having a really good time.

jimmy 18-09-2006 10:56 PM

we all will mate - that or driving touring cars.:p just kidding touring boys, relax!

Spencer Mulcahy 19-09-2006 12:23 AM

A pint of your best Mild please barman for Mr Evans and none of that mamby pamby fizzy stuff, ha the smell of coal burners in the morning was that traction unit number 234 go past Mr North yes I do think it was Mr Evans well put it in the book man.

Mr Evans and Mr North in 50 years time.

Richard Lowe 19-09-2006 07:55 AM

Hehe that was ace :bom:

While talking to Train Man 2, Train Man 3 (who was grumpy & wouldn't talk to us) had a massive derailment, it was ace. They didn't seem to know why, but, G saw the reason, the track in that area was sh**e.
:D

Stu 20-09-2006 04:23 PM

Cheers Richard, I'm glad I made you chuckle.

I stopped short of asking any of the exhibiters to demostrate a cum-face, I thought this may get an unwelcome reaction.

jimmy 20-09-2006 04:25 PM

were there many "pipes" in attendance ? you know those unlit pipes that are worn as a fashion accessory by train bods.

Stu 20-09-2006 04:52 PM

Hmm, pipes seemed to be missing, maybe 'cos it was at an indoor venue.

One fella had a proper 'train drivers' steel lunch box filled with plain corned beef butties, no poncie tupperware or Branston for him. G thought his Mum had probably made them up for him.

Northy 20-09-2006 04:59 PM

Them was proper bad boy sarnies! :D

Ya' man with the ill fitting t-shirt (did you get a pic of him) was far too busy mending his train to eat! :p

G

Stu 20-09-2006 05:07 PM

Yor mean Train Man 3?

Northy 20-09-2006 05:12 PM

Thats him, ya' man Train Man 3.

G

You could have called me in for an 'expert' opinion. Fortunatly cos my track (real) is so good I've never had to go to one!
