Hirobo Lancia Rally 44b
I have my dad's old early 80's Lancia Rally, which I'd like to restore. It's mostly complete, largely just needs to be rewired and get a good cleaning and painting. I fixed it once before, but it was a long time ago when I was a kid and now I've forgotten how it was wired, and I don't have any original pictures or manuals.
Any links about how to wire up the old rotary speed controllers with the porcelain resistors? And the motor has what I think are resistors wired between the main power connections. Also, what battery can I use, any old 6-cell pack? I'm not sure what voltage to use. Any help is appreciated! I'll try and post some pics later of the current condition. |
Oof, I just went onto google to remind myself what it looked like as I only really remembered the rock-n-city and rock-n-vega (I think they were called). The 44b was interestingly used to carry out a robbery in the film malcolm  - though most people only remember the tamiya scorcher.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIROBO-LANCI...item45fbb0fafa ouch! Anyway - I have to say I've never seen a Hirobo in the flesh - I always wanted a rock-n-vega (the buggy one), along with a Yankee Electra. One day :) Good luck with the resto |
Hello
This may help: http://www.vintagercweb.com/manuals.html I remember when a lot of heavily modified 44bs racing when I started racing originally.......and the ongoing debates between racers if 3-in-1 oil was the best for running in their dampers! |
