help i broke my 410

Hi

i was messing around in the carpark at work and my 410 hit the curb at full throttle(lost sight of it) i drove it back to see the damage and there was bits everywhere

Now the motor is inttermitent, youve got to turn the pinion whilst using the throttle (by the way it hurts) and the spur gear jumps around, it also sounds like theres teeth missing, i also cracked the lipo case, battery holder!

Can anyone help with the motor and spur problem please

can you post some pics of the car/drivetrain?

check your sensor wire is in correctly

Will try and load pics in a bit, pics not very clear but easily seen!

With the sensor wire do i unplug it from both ends then plug back in, or one at a time? Just checking because i dont want to make it worse!

Sounds like you've bent the moter shaft slightly of the meshing has gone tight

Surely the spur would break before the motor shaft gets bent, i would of thought that because it was a front impact the spur would of been pushed backwards not to the side,

Oh yeah and i broke the bit where the battery strap is clipped to !

Sounds to ne like the motor has moved and gone closer to the spur gear and the sensor lead has come out aswell re mesh the pinion and spur gear and check the sensor lead is in correctly

What you need is a 410 with a load of parts as a spair car. PM me if you want some pics.

It's possible your centre bulkheads have got damaged, making the drivetrain not run straight or without binding. You should check that the centre driveshafts are not bent either.

First thing i would do is take the pinion off the motor and see if the motor rotates freely without having to touch it and the car rolls freely along the floor. If both of those are ok then it must be something to do with the motor mount or spur gear mount thats twisted slightly.

jake1*2011 16-09-2012 06:05 PM

hi guys

thanks for the help, it looks like the centre bulkhead (not the motor mount one) has twisted slightly, it feels tight getting the spur in

there seems to be a dead spot in the motor, when you use the throttle theres one place where the motor wont work, like a sensor doesnt work

on closer inspection i noticed i bent the FF suspension holder, theres also a horizontal crack in it where the curb met the bumper

cant find my pics, stupid phone!!

nope i got darren moult to paint one for me, i liked the design and immediately wanted one!! but with the union jack on it!

how did you get yours slightly burnt?

Rebelrc 16-09-2012 07:07 PM

It looks very similar
My lipo exploded due to not having pin guard on the rear prop cvd!

jake1*2011 16-09-2012 07:28 PM

thats the sort of thing im affraid of, i dont like the idea of lipos going boom!

jake1*2011 17-09-2012 04:52 PM

Thanks for the help guys, just a little update

looks like ill be getting a new motor because theres a dead spot in the motor, it will run 3/4s of the way round but the last 1/4th theres either now power or the sensor isnt working. Local hobby shop is sorting it out

Ive bent a corner of the front kickup, twisted the ff suspension holder which looks like its moved the front diff back a little. Ive straightened the holder as much as i can but cant do the rest until i get the car back

Twisted the centre bulkhead thing, where the spur sits, both parts of it! But now have couple coming just incase i do it again!

Ive replaced the plastic side pods with alloy ones and replaced the chassis brace with the carbon one

Im just hoping the driveshafts arent bent and the diffs are ok, but the speed it hit the curb im 80% positive theres gunna be something wrong, the good bit is the servo still works!

does anyone know how fast a 410 will go with a 6.5 turn motor and the gearing set at 28/87 teeth?

Very fast as I would only run around 23/87 maximum with a 6.5. Do not expect the motor to last if you are gearing like that!

jake1*2011 17-09-2012 05:43 PM

only ask because i was running 24/87 and it was too hot to touch, could only keep my thumb on it for less then a second, i was told to go to 26/87 but there was no change to the heat so i put 28/87, ran well and cold keep my thumb on it for a good minute-minute and a half!.......maybe thats why i crashed!

paulc 17-09-2012 06:24 PM

28t is to high look on the Durango set up sheets don't think any of them are over a 25t i usually run mine on a 23t
