Practice tyre compound poll...
Hi guys,
Need advice as to a hard wearing tyre compound suitable for practice nights on a still sandy astro track, the wicked WORM at Weston! Being new to this I'm not in a position to fork out a shed load on every available tyre, running spikes at the mo but pins may be worth a go in the future. BB greens were as good as bald in 3 packs worth of driving, Schumacher yellows died in just over twice that. Assume the sand in the track is the ultimate abrasive until it brushes out. Where ultimate/race level grip is not a concern what is your recommendation for a tyre compound for fun/practice nights with a good wear life as a set of tyres every visit to the track could be expensive! Either pick a poll option or give some advice  Cheers Adam |
DBoots will last longest. CML do turf rippers in a harder compound, they dont work too well (the softer compound is decent though) but they'd probably last quite a while..

Cheers James, I'd heard that too, so may give them a shot! Was unsure about about any of the BB compounds other than the greens, not heard of anybody using the others

dboots are made for racing :-)
Apologies for the pun, dboots do wear well with plenty of traction even when quite worn. ;)
Not too hot if the track is wet and slippy, Ballistic greens are favoured option in the wet :D |
Dboots are great last for ages, turn them Round from left to right lengthen the life further (don't run the too low before swapping)

Blue Schumacher mini spikes are worth a thought.

Cheers guys! Dboots on the way, got to be worth a punt!
