502X Upgrade set

Found this on Tamiya USA Website:

http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=84310 :eh?:

Anybody know what it is or have some images?

Want images too

I have seen the CAD images. The top decks are stiffer, like what Leeroy was testing at Reedy. The rear tower is also 3mm taller and thicker, again, what Lee was already testing.
New inner toe blocks to increase rear toe. They look the same.
The camber mod is a little different. It looks like a Rudebits mod, but all one piece aluminum with no carbon fiber. Four pieces total.

TRF502X Upgrade...

Aussie Top Force 27-09-2012 11:21 AM

Thanks Kentech,

I guess the question is whether the set is worth cost? I have the Rudebits camber link set, the sway bar set and aluminium centre shafts. So how much difference will the new upper chassis decks make and the new rear shock tower? There are also the rear suspension lower mount adjustments and the centre shaft universals. Mmmmmmm....:eh?:

I guess it answers that question of 502X or 511X, i.e. which one is TRF developing. Will be interesting to see if TRF brings out anything for the 511 in the future.

Please note that the sway bar is 1.4 mm and is not included in the 501x sway bar set.

I'm pretty sure I have read somewhere that a 511 upgrade kit is out soon.

re

Mr Lee Martin seems to be using most of the upgrade kit on his car, going by the photo on the Rudebits site, i think the usefull bits would the shock tower and the rear suspension mounts, they probly would realease just the parts seperate later, i see some of them already on the stella site under the db02 section.

The package price works out pretty cheap for what you get considering tamiya prices, plus its tamiya bling and thats hard to resist...

I want :D

I think everyone's ordered one .

The Stella site hasn't any piccies of the kit in stock now!

Aussie Top Force 29-09-2012 12:07 PM

I just ordered one from Stella. Was still in stock at the time!:)

Mmmm, wonder if Tamiya will respond to the Team Associated's B44.2? Bigs Bores and +8mm chassis? +8mm 511's and 502's?????:eh?:

taomo 02-10-2012 02:42 PM

I ordered one from Stella too, hope it will arrive soon ^^

traffman 02-10-2012 03:40 PM

At the end of the day it's all fashion .

I have never an big bores and prob never will unless they come with a future kit.

trowta 03-10-2012 06:08 AM

well I did I whole bunch of testing and I have to say the upgrade chassis kit and the new steering assembley have transferred this car from a good one to a great one, I was really impressed with the increase in turn in and mid cnr push is non existant now, very impressed, now looking forward to see what the 511 kit will include

I'd say it depends on your race track. You'll probably not need big bores if your track is smooth. Thanks to some stupid rabbits, our astro track isn't any more, in fact there is a big pot hole in the last third of our straight. My Yoke handles that hole way better with the big bores and lands much smoother when jumping too far, without being overdamped as it would be with heavier shock oil. Big bores FTW!
