TRF 502X - Front end breakages

Hi All,

I'm new to the 502X and just broke a front suspension arm on the inner hint pin. I replaced both front arms with 501X versions which have same geometry but are a lot thicker.

How does everyone else get on with front end hits? Are the 501X arms a common replacement, or do most just replace with standard versions?

The stock arms are very hard and break if you smuck a wall. Put the 501 arms on your buggy, and when your skills improve and you crash less, go back to the stock arms as they are better handling, though the difference is slight and not noticed by all.

I got the advice on my TRF201 to put rubber o-rings* behind the front uprights (instead of the spacer that's usually there) - which gives a little more flex and a smoother buildup of stresses. I haven't broken a front arm on my car since, and it hasn't affected the handling in a bad way afaik

*(not o-rings for shocks, some harder black o-rings from a hardware store)

It was an unfortunate wack on my new driveway, where we haven't landscaped as yet! I'm sure a similar hit could happen in a race from another car.

My 201 hasn't broken any thing and has taken an absolute pounding!
