cougar sv steering servo help.

I've just got a cougar sv and i'm going to put my savox sc-1256tg into it.
When the servo is in place I've noticed that the servo horn is very close to the steering centre track rod. is this normal or do i need a low profile servo??

I run the same servo in my cougar an have had no problems at all, just one on the low profile servo, would advise if u do get one not to get savox 1251 as had one myself in the cougar an after 1 month of use stripped the internal gears which was only about 3 race meetings

You don't need a low profile servo. I run the savox 1258 which is the same as yours for fitting. Is a close fit but perfectly fine.
What servo horn are you running. Standard kit or something else?

thanks for the help. I'm running an answer alu one. I had to grind down the length of the ball stud so it didn't foul the centre linkage and shorten the horn as it was a bit to long. it looks clear, haven't tested it yet but does look close when wheels are straight ahead.

What servo horn do you recommend??

I use an answer RC one too. Didn't have to do anything to make it work properly. Used it in my SV and now SV2.

Yeah I got the answer alu for my cougar with a savox 1258 and I had to grind the end off it because it was too long.

i used a black one from mbmodel and bent it slightly to give good clearance

I'll post a pic of mine tomorrow. No grinding, bending or any other mods for that matter, just fits perfectly as it should.

I had the same problem and then purchased a Core one from MB and it fits perfectly.

I use this one no issues
