rear grip

Hi chaps

Looking for some set-up help. Race on a fairly grippy indoor carpet surface.

Got a B44, stock set-up, plus anti roll bar kit. Running shumi mini pins, silver springs. Got the camber at zero to 1 degree in.

handling is great with new rears, but after about 3 meetings car has got very tail happy. Turned my expo right down and gentle thumb is needed to keep the tail from wagging.

Anybody got any tips.

Appreciate the advice.

3 meetings on the same set of tyres? are they worn, so rear grip has gone?

If you have run 3 meets on the same tyres, it sounds like your tyres might be at fault, esp if it was OK previously - post a pic so we can see the condition?

Will see if I can post a pic later. They have some wear but nothing dramatic, perhaps 3 meets is all I can expect from a set. I was expecting the fronts to go before the rears, as they were all replaced at the same time.

Was wondering if there was any general tips to increase rear grip, e.g. Softn suspension, camber settings, shock positions etc.

Thanks

A picture would be helpful, and how much motor are you running?

On an all carpet track I get about 3 runs from a set of tyres, nevermind 3 whole meetings!

I don't think you can still call those pins!:wub

True, but guess I was thinking you can say that about the fronts too, yet the balance is very oversteery.

I wish my tyres would look like that after 3 meetings

How much weight are you running in the car? If your not running any, adding the 87g lead ballast weight should help. Part No. 9776
Few things you could also try:
Short wheelbase
Lowering the inner ballstuds, i usually run 0.060" on my B44.1
Black roll bar on the back
Green rear springs.

If you could post your complete setup that would help :)

Thanks for the response, will compare with my set up.

Guess I will have to buy some more tyres!!!!

Well you were all right, replaced the rears and the car was transformed. Like driving a different car. Think i should buy spares in Shumacher, the amount of mini pins I am going to go through!!!
