Good Jumps/Paved Areas/Features??

Hi Guys,

Now that we've got a few meeting under our belt we have been given permission off the landowner to add some jumps/features and either a bricked or paving slabbed area.

The majority of the landscaping will happen over the winter months but there's no reason we can put a brick/paved section in over the next few weeks or so.

So we're putting to out to everyone - what do you want it terms of features/jumps/multi surface tracks and can you give us any examples of bits you like from the tracks you've raced on - pics/vids on YouTube to assist in our goal of track greatness.

Many Thanks,

Matt

Steve Ibbo had some great shots of a track him and Lloyd raced at in Spain a couple of months ago. He has them on his Facebook page, looks really good.

I will have a look for some others, as I have seen some great stuff whilst browsing the web.

On another note: love the new track alternations, much better now:thumbsup:

Kidderminster was always my favourite track when I did nationals;

Back then the only part that was astro turfed was the main straight.... looks like the same stuff still exists!! The thing I love about the track is the combination of surfaces mixed with raised/lowered transitions giving varying grip levels & interesting gradients which are in-keeping for a 1-10th scale car - not the massive ramps/jumps that we often find on tracks these days, that are fine for the skillfull & the brave, but can prove damaging & expensive for the less experienced. Kidderminster's layout flows nicely too & the features are almost 'organic'.

Another feature that I remember was a sweeping, banked dirt 180 deg curve at Batley (I think) that was a real buzz to drive - maybe this is something that could be built? In the event of a wet meeting (or to preserve it) an alternative route could be marked on the flat grass on a tighter inside line?

Even if you manage to emulate such features in a couple of areas of the track it would really add to the racing experience.

Edited to add; I do actually really like the track as it is - the layout was better last night than it was two weeks ago.... that if you can see it!

I think you can place random bumps and tabletop all stuff, then move the pvc pipe around to create different layout each week.

The current tracks been in development since we laid the original track about a month ago, thanks for the feed back, i'll pass it on to Liam and Matt who made the changes on Tuesday night.

We're not looking to make hundreds of changes, it's more a case of removing the wooden features and replacing them with earth, and adding a few other bits to the track.

We want the track to evolve rather than make a massive amount of changes, all at once. :thumbsup:

Thats the plan, we'r e going to work on a few designs that incoporate a few different track, and the add and swap a few bit of pipe to make another track.
