Are you using outdrive springs? If not that might be your problem...

Richard Lowe 14-05-2008 07:44 PM

Which part of the CVD is breaking, the bone or the stub-axle?

KBRacing 14-05-2008 07:47 PM

The stub-axle.

Sorry......

I think i have done 6 front stub axles now.:mad: I dont know what to do to solve the problem?

Richard Lowe 14-05-2008 08:46 PM

I've been through some recently too, I'm not sure if MIP has had a bad batch or material change, but they're not as strong as they used to be :(

All the shaft drive cars that use the Losi style stub axle seem to be suffering from this recently.

Nothing that can be done really other than not running the one-way and hoping MIP get their act togeather :bored:

Thanks all ....

Where are people getting their replacements for the stub axles?

I couldn't find any anywhere so i ended up putting the B44 CVD's which seem to fit fine, but would still rather have the original ones on.

cheers

craig

Hi craig

 Do the B44 hold better, then the original ones ..... ????

craigosh 15-05-2008 11:29 PM

If you mean are they stronger than the bj4 ones, i dont know for sure really, not broken one yet!!

I don't use the one-way and i'd run the original axles for about 2 years so i think they just broke through fatigue! could also of been related to a crash i had which shattered an outdrive.

There are slight rub marks on the b44 ones as they are a different design but they dont seem to bind so i guess its from bits of grit!

Can always fit the B44 hub carriers and knuckles anyway!

Where exactly are the rub marks?

craigosh 20-05-2008 11:16 PM

Rub marks are on the stub axle part of the joint, just were they are rounded down to the axle!

It's only been some slight rub marks and they haven't got any worse so i reckon it was just grit!
