Losi XXX-CR Front Hex stub axles

I have bought some nearly new Losi front 2wd wheels with tyres and so I have decided to modify my X-6 with the B4 front end to allow them to be used. I am using the following parts:-

A-1122 Front Spindle and carrier
A-1133 Front hex stubs and screws
A-3016 Axle spacer

I have looked at the manual and exploded parts view from the Losi website and cannot believe that the hex stub does not reach the inside of the inner bearing. Also I cannot believe the use of the axle spacer as the whole construction just seems to be a bit of a bodge to me. Can anyone who has any experience with the front end on a CR tell me if this is correct?

The hex goes through both bearings, and then the spacer goes on. The screw then goes through the hex from the inside so you have a thread for the nut.

I originally had this setup on my X6 but the car did not get full steering lock so I went back to the standard B4 parts.

When I put the axle in it does not reach the inner bearing at all. I have done some measuring and the stub axle itself after the hex measures 11.4mm. The distance from the outside of inner bearing to the end of the stub when fully inserted is 3.6mm. When I measure from the where the hex sits to where the spacer should touch the inside bearing I get 15mm.

The packet that contained the hex axle parts came in was yellow so I am wondering if the newer coloured packs contained updated parts with the same part number either that or I have the wrong spindle and carrier. Does anyone have the titanium stub axles available as I have seen these and they are longer than the one I have.

It sounds to me like you have the older XX versions and not the XXX, which is longer. Did the round spcers come in your packet or not, since XX did not use them, XXX did, that would give it away. The spacers were used on the XXX to either go on the inside or outside to increase or decresse the width (track) of the car, a feature the older XX never had

We have XXX ones in stock and I belive we have the Lunsford titanium ones too that you mentioned, but would have to check stock in the morning when I go to work to be sure

There were no round spacers in my packet so I think I have been sold the old xx and not the newer xxx parts. I will be giving DMS a ring :D
