olympic rc mini's
Just sitting with laptop and watching the athletics, can see what looks like rc cars in the infield, on to google and http://www.motorward.com/2012/08/min...olympic-fleet/
yea, I know............. |
Saw those too!
|
More details here:
http://www.rcracer.com/on-road-artic...t-the-olympics and as part of my job I've driven the full size versions which have the equivalent of 204bhp which is 'interesting in a front wheel drive car with SO much weight over the rear axle! Don't know what chassis the RC version is based on but it looks to be 1/4 or 1/5 scale. |
Thought someone might of posted a vid as i`ve not seen them yet on tv
|
both mcd and fg make a 1/5th scale new mini

they use them to fetch the javelins and shamelessly plug mini's
|
1/5 scale BMW mini - does that make them about the same size as the original mini?

There's a bit of controversy about these at the games, apparently the olympics are supposed to be advert free however the mini Is so well recognised that there are a few people not happy about it, probably as this Is the version made by BMW and not the iconic early mini!
I just think that it's a great idea to use them! Wonder if there's any well known drivers driving them??! |
