Look on eBay and type in hobbywing v3 but you will have to select search other countries and you should find a few there mainly in hong kong buy from buyers with good feedback normally takes a week or two and about £130 ish

Are they just an orion in HW clothing? Are they that good or just average?

DragonRider 03-08-2012 06:14 AM

As far as I know the Orion and the hpi flux are just rebadged hobbywings and I know of 6 drivers that run them in TC's and they swear by them

The Orion is a hobbywing but not the v3 it is almost same but not quite there and is not running new software so has less adjustments.

The hpi flux is a hobbywing v3 just rebadged.

I have 2 hpi flux speedos that I have just replaced my LRP sxx with and the hpi/hobbywing v3 is by far the best speedo I have ever seen or used.

The throttle response is super smooth and the adjustments are out this world.

Also don't forget the special on/off button inbuilt to speedo its worth just buying for that lol

Not true buddy. Orion is not a hobbywing. Hardware and software are different. If you want Orion, buy Orion. All are good but not all the same. This has been discussed to death. Loads of people who think they know will I expect come on here and tell you that I'm wrong. I'm not. Buy what suits you best but realise that if it's from abroad and it goes wrong you're screwed usually. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Enjoy.

You buy a Hobbywing from any country you wont have an issue, Simple send it back to the factory in China and it will be repaired with very minimal cost or effort. Doesn't matter where you bought it from they treat all the customers the same. There service is worth its weight in gold and through my own stupidness of plugging in power the wrong way I have had to use them twice and never had a grumble.
