Calls from Ambulance Chasers..

Been getting rather a lot of calls from a company recently trying to persuade me to make a claim on an accident I had etc etc. Obviously I've not been in a car accident but they assure me that I have.

So after many attempts to persuade them to sod off and stop calling me they still call 2-3 times a day, at the moment I have taken to just popping them on hold and leaving them there until they ring off. If they are on hold to me they aren't brainwashing some poor sod into making a bogus claim right?!

Anyway, the number they call from is 01612494505 which belongs to:

http://chameleontelesalesltd.co.uk/

or on facebook:

Would I be stooping to their level of the gutter if I started to post crap on their wall or do you think that its justified?

Or failing that if anyone has any other ideas that are not criminal I'd like to hear it as I think its about time these companies had a taste of their own medicine.....

i think what you did was best way to deal with them.
is there not some kind of watchdog thing for companies in regards to telemarketing? if not there should be

I'm fairly sure that's classed as illegal harassment

Tell them that your number is registered with the Telephone preferencing Service and that you are recording all their calls, both digitally and in a diary and reporting back to the TPS, them cold calling you is a breech of the TPS regulations and can land them a hefty fine.

Or you could register their number on the interweb on places like Gumtree, which is where they harvest their numbers from.

I'm fairly sure you can sue for that and get some conpensation money

unfortunately, they get round the current TPS regs by offering a service not selling you something - joke isn't it?

Anyway Balders the only car accident you've been in would result in you suing yourself!
They buy lists off some insurance companies to find out who's been in an accident. I'm glad to say the company I work for don't do that and have been campaigning to stop others!
