Been a while... be gentle..... (Schumacher Cat 3000)

Its been a while since I raced yet alone chatted about RC cars. So be gentle.

I used to race 1/10th offroad at Alcester and Ragley Hall years ago!!! I had a Super Sabre if anyone remembers me. The fastest mean green machine around (well with a standard motor!!). Then a PB (Why??? I don't know). Then a Tomy.

About 6/7 years ago I did a bit of racing again. Did a few regionals etc. Bought a load of stuff again and still have a CAT 3000 plus a load of bagged spares, tyres etc. Was wondering if these were still raced? Its probably about time I looked at selling it on.
The batteries I have are probably no good as I think Ni-cads have probably died out. Also I don't think 13x2 or 15x4 motors are legal anymore??? Those were the days.

Anyway if anyone can help in in sorting out what to do with this stuff then let me know.

Cheers,
Aidan

Depends on what level you want to race

Depends on what level you want to race and what class, club races there are normaly very few restrictions, and correct me if I'm wrong but its too late to register for nationals.

Lots of info is available at the BRCA site, and individual clubs will normaly state restrictions on regional events, ie no LiPo's etc

http://www.brca.org/

But I bet you could have lots of fun beating folks who are running new gear in your old car with Nicads, ( my cars fine but me the driver seems to be the week point )

Best advise nip into your local club and chat to as many people as possible, thats what I did and they were all very helpful

i would look at investing in some new battaries;)£30ish will get you a good pack of nimhs,i would say your motors will be okay, providing there in good working order:confused:as for the car,if it ain't broke race it:lol:i guess its down to what you want to spend at end of day:eh?:

The two local clubs to you are going to be Kidderminster and Coventry. Coventry run club meetings every two weeks. Most of the electric racing during the summer now in our region is mainly regionals. during the winter cov and kiddy hold a joint series. I will be up at coventry on the 25th May so if you want to pop up you are more than welcome to come over and chat, You might even remember some of the old faces that still race up there.

i have good memerioes of Ragly hall. Brilliant venue and as i was only little when i raced there i enjoyed playing in the maze

Unfortunately. I don't think I will be racing again. As much as I enjoyed it. Maybe when my little one is older I may be able to do it with him.

Was just interested in finding out if the CAT was worth anything. I did think about popping to one of the clubs/ regionals with all my stuff and seeing if anyone was interested in any bits. I am away bank holiday otherwise that may of been an ideal time.

I won the club championship at Ragley once!! It was a nicely kept area to race in. I can not remember you by name Andy maybe recognise you though. I still recognise some of the names from the midlands though!
