Indoor inserts?
 

I need to find some decent inserts for both my B44 and B4, running either Schu yellow minipins, or Schu mini spikes (yellow or green).

I will also be using the B4 outdoors..

Can anyone recommend me a really good insert out of this selection please??
Preferably one ofr indoors and one for outdoors :)

The Light blue ones are probably the best out of that selection. Although The Snee/BRM blue or the Shuey Green Med foams are ones I have used and seem to work well.

Yeah the Sky Blue ones. From the description they sound similar to the Snee/BRM blues that are used all over on many surfaces so should be fine for whatever you want to do.

Obviously you may have differing opinions from others but from all those descriptions my opinion is the Sky Blue ones.

I think the Fastrax ones are slightly lighter foam, so a bit softer than the Snee Blues (but you can't buy the Snee Blue's anymore).

I tried the schumacher blue and green, and the schumacher Blue are okay for most tracks (indoor and outdoor). if you are lacking traction, the softer foam (schumey green) maybe better, or in a harder (Schumey Blue Compound) tire, which does not require as much support.

For yellow minipins and grass, run the schumey/Snee Blue. Edit purple is also used by craggy at the moment I believe, which is also similiar.

Mark ..... your not quite right there mate .... speak to Dom @ DC Racing and he'll supply you inserts that you can't tell from Snee ones ...... yet again DC Racing to the resuce of the 1/10th off-roader!!!

I know Rog.. I always buy Snee type inserts from Dom! I just meant you can't buy the 'official' Snee Blue's anymore.

Dude where indoors are you going to run?

Out of the rage CML do I always ran the Fast Gray insets outdoors and the Fast Dark blue inserts for Caldicot as a start tyre insert set up

I had run the Snee and DC blues for some time but never found they suited my driving style and where nasty on astro for me( to much tyre roll/ side wall collapsing ) but again this is down to my aggressive style driving with an "safe" style set up car and not the insert its self

Can you guys do a quick overview on what the different inserts "actully do" based on real life driving experience, as you can imagine me and I assume a lot of other people have to go by manufactures/supplier reccomendations or take a wild guess, it would be nice to evolve this thread into some constructive feed back from the people that have enough skills/talent/knowledge to help the rest of us )

I'm no pro but I recon softer inserts are like less air in your tyres and harder inserts are like more air in your tyres. With softer inserts the tyre contact patch will be bigger and the tyre wall will deform more. You'll also have slightly lower ride height. Harder inserts will have better bump absorbsion but you'll get more tyre rebound and more deflection. You also need to think about the size of the air breather hole in the rim, combined with the insert hardness and the tyre choice all in relation to the surface traction.

Schumacher now do a green medium insert which I have bought but not truid yet, it sure feels nice :wub
