charging lumax leisure battery
 

I have just bought a Lumax 75ah leisure battery, was wondering how many charges roughly id get out of a fully charged battery.
Also whats a good/cheap charger for the 12v

I have a Draper "Intelligent Battery Charger" which I got from a motor factors for about £30, it's self-adjusting and monitors the charge state of the battery and when it's fully charged the green LED comes on and it goes over to trickle mode.

I also have a (Lucas) 75ah leisure battery and that usually allows me to charge 4-5 6000mah Turnigy nanotechs from a full charge, when the battery voltage goes below 11v the LiPo charger stops working and I have to revert to mains power. I'm sure it used to do more than this when it was new in January but I got it tested the other day at a tyre and exhaust place and they said it's a good battery.

I'd be interested to hear how your Lumax battery performs in comparison as it's the same capacity.

I have 75Ah leisure that I bought from my local caravan shop.

It's been rebranded by the shop, but appears to be a Supac battery?!?!

I bought it in April 2010, and have been charging it with a Numax connect and forget leisure charger. Maybe not the cheapest charger, but it appears to work very well!

I use the leisure at nationals where I get 7 charges per day out of it, so 14 drive battery charges in total over a national weekend, plus charging my Transmitter sometimes, plus charging a phone maybe once or twice (more if other people jump on it too), plus pumping an airbed up and powering lights in the evening while camping, and I've never seen the voltage drop below the point where it will no longer charge my RC car battery!!!

It doesn't get recharged in any way during the weekend btw.

At regionals and club days I can often have 2 people or both my 2wd and 4wd batteries charging off it all day, so again doing 10+ charges without a worry.

In fact, the battery has a small indicator built in to the top of it, very simple little fluid chamber...it changes colour according to the state of the battery and I've never seen it drop down to the red 'I'm flat, please charge me' state.

I would expect your leisure to outlast your race meeting demands easily, and if your interested to know how much it will do, then try using it til it's flat and see how far you get. Just do that somewhere/sometime you have backup! :thumbsup:

Interesting, what is the input voltage range of your LiPo charger?

It's simply maths. If the battery is in the same condition it came out the factory it's simply 75 divided by RC pack capacity in A/Hrs. Voltage has nothing to do with anything.

It's an etronix Powerpal...says DC 11-18v on it. :)
