identifying motors
 
hi folks

have come across two novak motors 1 ex spec and SS pro neither have labels identifying wind is there any way electrically or internally i can work our what they are i dont think colour ring is certain way to do it

waiting for the electric gurus "imull " and "pugs" to enlighten us :thumbsup:

If you take the casing and sleeve off you will find the wind written on the stator.

Beyond that you can do an inductance test but that requires the right equipment.
The coloured rings is the easy way to check.
Black 8.5
Blue 10.5
Orange 13.5
Yellow 17.5
Green 21.5

both mike and pugs were correct :thumbsup:

stripping motors revealed the truth both 13.5 neither colur ring matched supposed wind

thanks to both fellas for the help ,see you at worksop Stevie mitch raring to go :woot::woot:
