Pre/Post Race Inspection

Hi

Just interested to know if other racers carry out inspections of their RC car before and after a race. Personally I always give mine a once over before and after especially if I have crashed. saves me breaking down because I missed a broken bit. I always strip my car clean, lubricate and inspect the parts for wear etc between meetings.

What do you do with yours ?

Thanks

Steve

After most meetings mine gets stripped down bearings blown through and diff rebuilt/gearbox checked after every 3 meetings,I am now going to do a complete nut and bolt check after every race after a front wheel come off the other night, couple drops of oil either end of the motor every now and again,I even wash the wheels and tyres after a meeting!!!

Have I got OCD?

My pre-race checklist:

4 wheels? Check!
Does something when you wiggle the steering? Check!
Makes some noise when you give it throttle? Check!

OK - Lets GO!

I used to be a bit OCD with my cars but since changing to Kyosho I've got much less so ... so damn reliable it's almost an insult to open the gearboxes.

Mine hasn't been cleaned, lubed, or checked since the last oOple race. And it races at least twice a month...

Mine gets stripped, cleaned and rebuilt after each outdoor race, but if I'm only racing indoors, generally I just check for loose nuts and screws and give the motor a blast with an air line.

Outdoors leaves my car needing a clean though... I always seem to find the puddles...

I'm with Roger. Just done the diffs in my FS2 for the first time since I built it 4-5 months ago, and it's run in some pretty naff weather!

Normally Ijust run around with a soft brush and a little GT85 to get it clean, and check for anything lose, broken or bent. Shocks get fresh oild every few meetings, and bearings get done if they feel gritty. That's pretty much it, takes about 30 minutes. So much easier than when I was racing 8th scale every week... that was like having a full time job:rolleyes:

Hi,

Thanks for all your posts. It would appear that my preparation is a bit OTT, so with that in mind my new mantra will be.

Wiggle, Brush, Spray and PRAY :woot:
