Durga- which pinion?!

hi, i'm going to go brushless with my durga but have no idea which pinion i need.
I'm going to get a novak 5.5t. I've got a 91 t spur gear (standard).
So what size pinion do i need?

P.s. please help quick as i'm going to buy the system tonight!

Thanks, 04tow01.

Probably too late now but I run a 14T with my 5.5T, on a 91T spur and it still gets very hot. Tried it with a 15T and it was utterly untouchable and I was scared the chassis may melt! I know someone on here runs a 17T with a Mamba 6900 but I have no idea what a 6900 is ie, 10.5T, 6.5T etc.

so do you think that something low like a 13t would be best ?

I'm one of the guys who run the Durga with 17T pinion and 6900kv Mamba motor but don't know the ammount of turns of the Mamba 6900 either. However when comparing the Mamba with the LRP 6,5T motor I noticed that they both have " Special RPM per Volt, kV: 6.900 RPM ". So they seem to be equal and maybe the Mamba 6900kvis 6.5T too?

The temps on my motor and esc are oké. However the battery tends to get quite hot. I didn't try the Durga with BL kit on real loose dirt though. I'm going to run it next week on a BMX track and I'll keep you guys posted!

The problem is that the only 13T I found wouldn't fit as the grub screw sits proud of the gear (as the pinion is so small) and therefore has to be offset so that only 50% contact was achieved with the spur. I thought this was insufficient so 14T is as low as I can go at the moment.

Apparently, the 96T 501X spur won't fit which is a shame as this would allow me to get the right ratio with a 16T pinion.
