How to make milky wings?!?

I've seen a couple of pictures of people with wings on their cars that look milky but aren't painted.
Anyone know how to do this???

What you need is like a scotch pad and you just rub it till it goes cloudy.

milky wing just sounds wrong lol i think saying cloudy or translucent wing would be better

itched effect is what i think you ment to say, and as ben said a scouring pad or scotchbrite pad and scuff it up real good

My Durga looked that way while the overspray film was still on the wing... Now it's painted I like it better painted though.

hehe some stuff has been posted tonight  but yes painted wings are nicer if your a person who can make them last long :D

or use the right type of paint that doesnt come off as easy

blitzboy 06-05-2008 10:05 AM

ther milky effect is done using eniry cloth or fine sand paper and it looks good plus its easier than painting replacment wings all the time but as big red said use the right paint & it wont come off

Which paint is durable?

I like Faskolor since it's water based. But it sure isn't scratch resistant!

For window tinting I use Tamiya smoke (spray can), which works excellent. But I've seen others with tinting in other colours - what are those? (brands/colour/webshop please)

Tamiya Smoke might work on the wing... it's quite scratch resistant also...

And Taateego supply a pre-smoked wing don't they?

bigred5765 06-05-2008 11:33 AM

that's a trade secret sorry shy cant tell ya
send me a wing with the disign you wont on it and ill paint and post it back
im not saying it wont scratch but will last ten times longer then just painted with faskolor
we still have are wing from the euros in italy 3 years ago 98% paint still on

A fully silver shell would be cool. I always like Mark Paice's shell design, ought to be done with chrome. ;) (with Jiz wing ofcause)
