Cell confusion - are mine legal ?

Hi guys

Ive been racing for some years but havent raced regionals since the days of 2000 mah cells.

I may of unknowingly just purchased 5 packs worth of cells that arent BRCA legal   but i would like you to clarify please ?

They are Orion SHO 4200 NiMh

There are 2 versions of the SHO cell. The one that is pictured isn't legal, one with some white on the shrink wrap is legal.

Hi Matt

I used to race you many moons ago ( about three finals below you ;) )

There is no white on the heatshrink that i can see - mine are as pictured :(

So i now have 5 expensive paperweights it would appear.

In a word - no.

Those cells are the wrong 'model' so therefore have never been BRCA legal, this year or last; so sorry but you cant use them :(

Did you buy them in the UK?

As UK suppliers would only stock legal cells, if they did come from a uk shop get intouch with them, to see if they can replace them with the correct cells.

Rich D 05-05-2008 08:21 PM

Nope - from HK.
