x6 kit

Just wondered if anyone knew whether the X6 conversion kits, that Lesro models and DMS have in stock are the updated ones with the four gear tranny?
Cheers

rcracer 03-05-2008 09:58 PM

Mike Hudson 03-05-2008 10:01 PM

yep they most certainly are :)

Garry Driffill 03-05-2008 10:44 PM

Does that mean the 3 gear ones are "Special" now  - Collectors maybe?..

Running mine tomorrow at bury and cant wait !

pro4nut 03-05-2008 10:47 PM

or you could update to a 4 gear tranny for £25 well worth it

and yes all the dms stock of x6 kits are 4 gear although they do have spares for the 3 gear, also all the x5 kits are squared versions

Garry Driffill 03-05-2008 10:49 PM

Yea mate thats the plan next week :)

Cheers Guys thats good to know. Also are there any weak points on the X6? And if so are there any cures?
I've noticed the back rear hinge pin brace looks quite weak - or is this fine on the latest kits?

Cheers

Weakest bits seem to be the AE parts - but nothing more untoward than is normal for high speed front impacts:woot:

Seriously - so far so good - very tough and simply amazing to drive.

Well worth it!

like andy says just the ae parts that seem to break like front arms when ya clip things hard (also known as doin an ellis :woot:) rear pivot block can go but have now been beefed up and it tends to be a me break if i do break one (iv hit summin i shouldnt of). e speed bits are very good so worth getting and recomend the k factory front shock tower as it is much stronger than the stock ae part and looks pretty as well ;)

Every order we have sent out ove rthe last 2 weeks for X6 parts has been just one or two from X-Factory and a small list full of AE. This trend of the AE parts being those that break is certainly the case (to be fair all of the front except the nosepiece is AE), but still ALL the X-Factory parts are more than man enough for the job.

K Factory front shock towers have indeed proven to be a very popular optional part too as mentioned

Daren do u stock k factory bits??

Darren Boyle 05-05-2008 09:57 AM

Yes we do indeed, all listed on our website

Went and ordered a x6 kit from DMS last night, really don't like the point and squirt attitude of the rc10, hoping this will go someway to solving it.
The only thing that I've never had to mess with before is gear box height, so that'll be a new learning curve for a start.

can you get the K Factory B4 front tower on it's on minus alloy parts if I'm unlucky enough to break the original or do you have to get the full kit with the alloy parts?

Darren Boyle 23-05-2008 07:09 PM

K Factory do not make the tower seperate yet, but we are having some straight replacment ones made up, which should be with us in the next 7/10 days. These may not have the milling in place (we are costing this up at present) and will probably not have the outer hole too (which no-one seems to use)

ianplimmer 23-05-2008 09:38 PM

looks like you may of tel, must say it ran very well tonight and i didnt have make any adjustments, it just drove planted
