Motor/esc upgrade help needed!!!

Hi there,
I am looking to upgrade my B4.1 motor & esc to get some more speed for indoor club racing. I have been advised by somebody at the club that sensored is the way forward??? I'm just not sure what to buy, there's soooo much choice even in the combo sets & I don't want to end up with something that I'm going to want to change again in a couple of months time!!! That said I don't want to spend a fortune either!!!! Maybe if we said about £200 as a top budget?!?!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello mate,
I'm just starting out racing with a B4 (outdoors).
I run a hobbywing 120amp V2.1 esc and an old LRP X11 8.5 motor which is a sensored system.
I bought motor on here for about £30 and the esc from giant shark for about £85. I also added the program box for £12.
I am please so far with this setup as I can dial it right down to stop me crashing quite so often.

As above, hobbywing 2.1 and LRP.
Do you have motor restrictions in your club?
I have a 5.5t in my B4 but it was fast enough when I had a 10.5t in it and a lot easier to drive consistently. (I crashed less)
Bought most of my stuff second hand on here.
For that money you can get a Tekin RS Pro 2nd hand.

Far as I'm aware there's no restrictions but from what I can gather about 9.5 or there abouts would be the average in there.

Is there any manufacturers that are better than others or more importantly any to avoid??
Or anything I need to look out for specs wise??

Thanks again

As in everything some manufactures are the premium brands ie Tekin, LRP.Orion etc. Others are just rebranded versions of the same controllers etc.
But to be honest if only racing 2wd and an 8.5/9.5 motor an esc 60amp or over would probably be ok. I just wanted to be safe so went for the 120amp version.
Also make sure its 2S Lipo compatable.
Like I said I have only just gotten involved with toy cars :) but lots of research online and through this forum has really helped my admittedly limited understanding.
Good luck
Ben
